The Oakton 35408-10 CON 610 conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) meter is a handheld, waterproof and dustproof meter that also measures salinity and resistivity, and comes with a conductivity cell K=1.0. The meter is commonly used to measure conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) of a substance in pure and sea water testing, and in laboratory and industrial applications. The CON 610 features a choice of manual or ATC, is factory-calibrated and has single- or multi-point calibration for a wide range of uses. The meter has an adjustable alarm to remind you when calibration is due. It has a large, backlit graphic display screen for ease of viewing and to display indicators. The meter has Infrared Direct Access (IrDA) wireless technology and comes with data acquisition software (DAS) for data communication. Data can be printed directly to a micro-computer. It has an auto-date logging function for storage of up to 500 sets of data measurements with time and date stamp for GLP compliance. It has set point alarms to provide audible warning when readings are outside set point limits, and password protection to secure calibration and setup menus. The 35408-10 meter has a temperature coefficient linear or pure, conductivity range of 0 to 200.0 mS, resolution of 0.01, 0.1 μ, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 mS. Its temperature range is -10.0 to 110.0 degrees C (14.0 to 230.0 degrees F), resolution of 0.1 degree C (0.1 degree F), and an accuracy of + or -1% full-scale; + or - 0.5 degrees C (+ or - 0.9 degrees F). It measures salinity from 0 to 80 ppt, and resistivity 0 to 20.00 MΩ. Manual calibration up to 5 points (per range); automatic up to 4 points. Ambient operating temperature range is 0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 F). The meter is 7.25(l) x 3.25(w) x 2.25(h) inches, and weighs 1.0 lb. It comes with a conductivity cell (35408-52 K=1.0), and the meter has up to 200 hours of continuous use with four 1.5V AA batteries (not included), or optional universal AC adapter (not included).Conductivity meters measure the ability of a material or solution to conduct an electrical current. They are commonly used in hydroponics, aquaculture, agriculture, and research to measure the amount of salts or other compounds present in water. TDS, such as salts and minerals, contribute to the conductivity of a solution. A TDS meter measures the conductivity and converts it to a TDS reading.Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses.
